Report: NBC Pilot Unveiled Sets John Glenn As New Writer

While the network in May opted not to pick up the original pilot, written by John Sakmar and Kerry Lenhart, the executives liked the general premise of flawed guardian angels who intervene in people’s lives.

Glenn, who has been under an overall deal at Universal TV, the studio behind Unveiled, has been hired as a new writer after he, along with Downey and Burnett, shared his ideas with the network brass.

"They come in to pitch a new take, and it was very spiritual," NBC Entertainment president Jennifer Salke said today at the TCA Summer Press Tour. After the upfronts, Universal TV moved in to lock in three actors from the original pilot whose options were extended. The move indicates NBC’s intention to film a new pilot.
